Our response to the wildfires in Southern California
Last updated January 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM PST.
Spectrum technicians and utility crews continue to make significant progress as conditions improve and the fires are contained. Several mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted, allowing for better access to the communities we need to reach.
We've assessed 100% of our affected area and will continue working to restore service to our clients as roads are clear and accessible. In several areas, construction and power crews must complete their repairs before our work can begin.
We're monitoring local power supplies and deploying generators wherever possible to make sure our technicians can safely continue their work.
What we’re doing
Our focus continues to be the safety and service of our clients and staff who live and work in the area. A team of more than 400 Spectrum technicians are committed to bringing our clients back online with safety top-of mind.
We're taking these steps to help those most affected get through this current state of emergency:
- Opening all Spectrum WiFi Access Points in the Los Angeles area to help everyone stay connected at no cost. Find one near you and learn how to connect.
- Committing $2.5 million to local causes focused on assisting in wildfire relief efforts.
- Providing our local employees with disaster relief assistance, such as temporary housing, transportation and the purchase of food and other essential items.
